The remaining boat of the 42-strong relief flotilla seeking to breach the Israeli longstanding maritime embargo on Gaza has been intercepted by Israel's military units.

Flotilla Halt and Deportation Measures

Based on government statements, procedures are now underway to deport the approximately nearly five hundred participants currently in detention. Within those held are several Italy's MPs who are expected to be repatriated to their home country on a scheduled aircraft.

Remaining Vessel Information

Recordings from the previous evening revealed the final vessel being operated by six activists, comprising three Turkish nationals, a Germany's national, and an Oman's participant. The Australian skipper of the boat stated via digital communication: "We have a group of extremely determined Turkey's activists with us... we're just going to proceed in our path."

Per a protest representative, the boat had joined the flotilla late after inclement weather compelled it to return to harbor in Barcelona.

Previous Precedent

The interception represents the most proximate any unapproved humanitarian attempt has gotten to the Palestinian territorial waters since Israel imposed its maritime embargo in 2009. The boat was stopped when it was approximated to be forty-two point five sea miles from the Gaza's waters.

Past attempts by activists to break the naval blockade have been stopped by armed intervention. In 2010, a dozen Turkey's humanitarians were killed when Israeli commandos stormed the flagship as it spearheaded an aid mission toward the Gaza Strip.

Other Boat Details

An additional vessel named the second vessel seemed to have ventured into Palestinian territorial waters, idling several nautical miles off the coast before being intercepted. However, coordinators mentioned they had lost contact with the boat's crew several hours before.

"It could be a location glitch or a technical issue with the tracking," stated a spokesperson. "We will only have certainty after communicating with the team, which is impossible at present as they are being detained by Israel's authorities."

Present Status

All held crew members from the mission are being transported to Israeli territory where they will face removal procedures. Some individuals on this most recent mission, including high-profile activist Greta Thunberg, have been previously detained by Israel's authorities while seeking to breach the blockade.

Traditionally, protesters apprehended by Israeli authorities have typically not been charged with crimes and their involvement has been considered as an entry concern rather than a criminal infraction.
