Thousands Participate in Pro-Palestinian Rallies as Organizers Pledge to Persist in Activism
A multitude have rallied throughout the country at pro-Palestinian protests, with coordinators vowing to continue protesting after a peace arrangement brokered by Donald Trump in Gaza showed early signs of stability.
Sydney Demonstration Attracts Many Participants
In Sydney, the Palestine Action Group announced 30,000 people had demonstrated from the central park to another city park in the downtown area after a planned rally to the iconic venue was banned by the state judicial body in recent days.
Law enforcement estimated 8,000 people joined the city demonstration, with a spokesperson reporting there had been "minimal disturbances".
Australian Rallies Remember Occasion
Rallies were also conducted in Victoria's capital, eastern city and west coast metropolis on the day of protest to mark 24 months of conflict after militant actions on 7 October 2023 caused significant casualties in Israel.
"Regarding our cause, we'll definitely persist to protest for a free Palestine... for local governance, for humanitarian assistance to enter and for locals to reconstruct their homes," stated an activist.
Mixed Reactions to Truce Arrangement
Numerous demonstrators shared confidence that the truce might bring permanent peace. Others were sceptical of Trump's involvement and urged supporters to continue urging the national authorities to impose restrictions and stop arms transactions.
One protester, a local with Palestinian heritage living in Sydney, shared he hoped the arrangement could permit him to assist his senior relative, who is remaining in the territory without proper healthcare, to Australia, and to find and bury his sibling, his wife and their kids, who have been lost contact in 2023.
Local Jewish Population Organizes Memorial
Meanwhile, thousands joined a Jewish community commemoration on Sunday night in Sydney's eastern suburbs to remember the occasion of the October attacks. Geoffrey Majzner, the relative of a victim, an local resident who was deceased in the incident, was planned to address.
There were hopes for soon return of those still detained in the territory and those killed on 7 October. The diplomatic representative, Amir Maimon, paid tribute to the determination of those affected. Sydney's pro-Palestine rally earlier included testimonies including several locals freed from custody after the stopping of the protest boats this month.
A participant, his damaged arm after it was said to be harmed in an incarceration center, told that not enough was known about the ceasefire deal. Worldwide assistance agencies, including Unrwa and Unicef, were preparing to enter Gaza.
"While circumstances persist where there's a severe and prohibited barrier on the territory," commented the activist, boat protesters would continue to try to deliver aid by sea.

Leadership Remarks
The elected official the politician informed attendees: "We cannot let a reality where the former president decides the destiny of Palestinians to be the nature of existence we tolerate."
One activist who filed the initial request to demonstrate at the famous location claimed that the participants could have peacefully gone to the famous harbourside venue. The NSW police assistant commissioner had previously told the judicial body that the plan had "disaster written all over it".
The coordinator stated at the event: "On each occasion the law enforcement seeks to prevent our protests or legal challenges, it raises public awareness... to the necessity to organize and resist these measures."
