The Co-Creator of Call of Duty, Dies in an LA Traffic Collision

The visionary game developer, the mind behind the wildly popular franchise Call of Duty, has died in a traffic collision in Los Angeles, California at the age of 55.

Zampella's death was confirmed by Electronic Arts, which owns Respawn Entertainment, the development studio which he helped establish.

The influential industry figure passed away following his car crashed and was engulfed in flames on a highway in LA on Sunday, US media outlets report.

"This is a heartbreaking loss, and our deepest sympathies go to Vince's loved ones, his family, and the countless individuals inspired by his legacy," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts commented.
