A woman charged with stalking Kate McCann allegedly recorded her a phone message which asked: "suppose I am Madeleine?"

The defendant, twenty-four, who court testimony revealed has consistently claimed she was the missing Madeleine McCann, and her co-defendant are facing charges accused with stalking Kate and Gerry McCann from June 2022 and February the current year.

On Monday, the court was told communication data and data recovered from phones recorded Ms Wandelt consistently asking Madeleine's mother for a genetic test throughout 2023 and 2024.

Madeleine's disappearance in 2007 - at the age of three during a vacation in Portugal - is considered the most publicized investigations and continues to be unresolved.

'I Don't Want Money'

A separate voicemail, presented in court, recorded Ms Wandelt stating: "I know I'm fat and plain like Madeleine was, but I know what I believe."

While one recording of Ms Wandelt's one-way conversations with Mrs McCann's voicemail said: "Suppose there is a tiny probability that I am Madeleine? What then? Is that not significant for you?"

"I am not seeking money, I have a life here in Poland, I simply desire to understand," the message continued.

The tribunal was told that by means of emails, text messages and communications, Ms Wandelt asked for a biological test, sent youth pictures to her phone in a attempt to display a likeness to Mrs McCann's disappeared daughter, and stated to have "flashbacks" from a childhood with the McCanns.

The investigator, an intelligence analyst with law enforcement who gathered the evidence, advised the court there "showed no any responses" from Mrs McCann.

Ms Wandelt additionally communicated with close associates of the McCanns, based on the call data.

On 9 October 2024, Gerry McCann picked up a communication from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, stating she had "incorrect contact information."

That day Ms Wandelt recorded a message on Mrs McCann's answerphone saying "I will persist and I intend to demonstrate my point."

The court heard the co-defendant struck up a association via internet with Ms Wandelt prior to joining her on a trip to the McCanns' property in Leicestershire in December 2024.

Phone records demonstrated Mrs Spragg had contacted through communication app to Mrs McCann to express the press had portrayed Ms Wandelt as "mentally unstable" but that she should be considered genuine in the period leading up to the trip to the village, that area, in last December.
