Skydance Paramount Plans to Remove Nearly 2,000 United States Roles – Report
Skydance Paramount is scheduled to initiate mass layoffs the week of 27 October, eliminating about 2,000 US jobs under a cost-cutting plan totaling $2bn overseen by top executive David Ellison.
The workforce reduction are a result of the union between Skydance Media and Paramount Global, finalized in August worth $8.4bn.
Further overseas workforce reductions are likely, with Paramount Skydance aiming to announce all specifics during its third-quarter financial update set for the 10th of November.
Prior news stated the company planned to cut between 2,000 and 3,000 positions by the beginning of next month.
By December 2024, the company employed nearly 18,600 full- and part-time employees plus 3,500 project-based staff.
Paramount Skydance has not yet commented regarding the report.
