Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim admits he cannot ignore from his disappointing performance and says it is normal that club legends are criticizing him.
Recently, the club's all-time scorer Wayne Rooney stated on his show that "the soul has disappeared" from his old team.
The Portuguese manager has managed just 18 wins from his 49 matches in charge, featuring 9 out of 33 in the English top flight, where he has still to record two successive wins.
Despite the fact that senior Old Trafford sources are adamant that Sir Jim Ratcliffe continues to be supportive Amorim, an inability to defeat newly promoted Sunderland on the weekend will spark new rumors about his future heading into another fortnight international break.
"This is normal," stated the Portugal-born manager, when asked about Rooney's comments. "You cannot escape from the outcomes."
"Then you have the history from last season, [although] that period for me is irrelevant."
Fan Response and Current Situation
Manchester United's followers stayed supportive of their manager following the previous campaign's poor fare, when they ended up 15th in the table - their poorest showing since the 1973/74 demotion campaign - and were beaten in the Europa League showpiece, in the belief that this season would be significantly better.
Amorim assured supporters the circumstances would change because he had more opportunity to prepare with his players without the midweek commitment of European competition.
That is not been how the first six fixtures have developed as Manchester United have experienced three defeats so far and find themselves 14th in the league.

When questioned what assurances he could provide fans that the situation will improve, Amorim added: "It's not the time to speak, it is the moment to demonstrate."
