LA Erupts in Celebration as Dodgers Secure Second World Series Championship
Los Angeles experienced widespread festivities after the Dodgers won a thrilling seven-match World Series championship. Supporters worldwide joined local residents in jubilation, marking the first time in a quarter-century that a team has secured back-to-back championships.
Celebration Parade Draws Massive Crowds
Los Angeles area events included a procession through the city center on Monday morning, a ticketed rally at Dodger Stadium, and impromptu gatherings across the city.
Social media videos depict countless of Angelenos packing city center avenues, many carrying homemade signs and Dodger flags. The team was seen riding high on a double-decker bus through the crowds, raising the championship trophy proudly.
“My focus is already about the next championship we’re going to do this,” the star player remarked through an interpreter.
The procession path ended at the stadium, where the team walked out to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with the renowned DJ spinning music and Ice Cube cruising a Pacific blue classic car around the stadium’s outfield.
Pre-Parade Festivities and Athlete Responses
Festivities started prior to the parade, with supporters setting off flares in the streets of the city center on Sunday night.
The World Series MVP, awarded the MVP of the championship, spoke plainly about the win.

However, the team owner received a less warm reception at the celebration. Video footage from the gathering appear to show Walter taking the stage to a combination of cheers and jeers, with jeers interrupting his address.
The championship acted as a positive moment in what has been a trying year for Los Angeles. An approximate quarter-million people attended to the championship parade last year, and according to team member Freddie Freeman, supporters this year showed equal or greater support.
“It seems it’s nearly twice from last year,” he said. “The supporters are incredible. It’s so awesome to be a involved in this.”
