"A Fresh Challenger Has Arrived."

Across the fiercely contested world of video games, it's typical for fresh competitors to disappear as swiftly as they explode onto the landscape.

But the latest Battlefield is hoping to shift that dynamic.

It's the newest release in a long-running combat FPS franchise frequently described as a more realistic alternative to Call of Duty.

The franchise has seldom succeeded to rival its best-known rival in aspects of units sold or players, but evidence points to the new installment could close the gap.

An early access event enabling players a opportunity to test the release in recent months achieved milestones, and the buzz leading up to its launch has been huge.

However the undertaking is still a big venture for company Electronic Arts, which has according to sources spent huge sums of funds developing it.

Our team has spoken to a number of the makers to find out how they hope it will be profitable.

Production Crew and Studio Cooperation

Four teams have been developing the game under the Battlefield Studios umbrella.

This includes veteran producer the Swedish studio, based in Europe, California's Motive team and Ripple Effect in North America.

Another, the UK studio, is situated in England.

The general manager is the executive of the pair of EU-based teams, and explains to our team that, in terms of what it's offering players, "Battlefield 6 is probably unsurpassed."

Learning From Past Errors

The game comes off the back of the sci-fi Battlefield 2042, launched in the past to a negative response it struggled to recover from.

"We probably would not be able to build and design the latest entry absent the insights we acquired in the previous title," she shares with our team.

One of those lessons was to engage players participating early, and the team initiated closed fan trials not long ago.

Their "response was incredibly encouraging," comments Rebecka.

Another omitted ingredient from Battlefield 2042 was a single-player campaign, which has been brought back in this version.

Criterion design director Fasahat "Fas" Salim is the person responsible for "guaranteeing those levels are as fun and interesting as possible for the players."

Regardless of reports that the scale of the game had created pressure for the multiple teams collaborating across continents to create the project, he is positive about the process.

"Partnering with varied backgrounds, different backgrounds, it's a really engaging atmosphere to be involved in every day," he shares.

"The complete method has been an innovation but something really exciting because we are partnering with people from internationally."

Regarding the pressure on the team, the director states: "We feel pressure but also it's thrilling.

"We're dealing with a major venture. It's likely the most significant that most of us have previously participated in."
