A catastrophic detonation at a police station in the Kashmir region under Indian control has led to the deaths of nine persons and wounding to thirty-two others, according to official statements.
The incident occurred when a stockpile of seized explosive materials accidentally blew up during handling procedures.

The detonation occurred on the evening of Friday at the Nowgam law enforcement facility, where explosive materials confiscated in Faridabad region in the northern territory of Haryana were being held provisionally.
Local security director stated that the explosives were awaiting forensic examination when a "deeply regrettable" mishap during management led to their blast at approximately 11:20 PM local.

Law enforcement officials confirmed that this was an "accidental detonation" and not a terrorist attack. "Any other speculation regarding the origin of this incident is unnecessary," highlighted the police chief during a journalist meeting.
The police station experienced extensive destruction from the explosion, with neighboring structures also being impacted by the strong explosion.
Aftermath and Casualties
Numerous cars were "engulfed in flames and reduced to charred husks, with debris scattered across the site," according to police accounts.
"The power of the explosion was so powerful that some human remains were retrieved from close-by residences, approximately 100-200 metres away the law enforcement facility," stated an authority informant.
The bulk of the fatalities were law enforcement personnel, along with scientific examination staff, two investigative imaging experts, and a garment worker who was with the team.
